WRCNC strives to be a Center of Excellence. Our staff is extremely knowledgeable in the OTA measurements, theory, and measurement systems because of our engineering staff and resources. As a commercialization center WRCNC has access to resources and staff who specialize in EMC, RF, and antenna design services available when problems arise due poor TRP and TIS performance who can identify, mitigate, and resolve the failure.
CTIA Authorized Testing Lab (CATL for Over-the-Air (OTA) performance)
Our Wireless Research Center is equipped with the right equipment to provide quick and accurate testing to the CTIA OTA requirements for GSM, GPRS, EGPRS, CDMA2000, CDMA 1xEVDO & 1xRTT, WCMDA, and LTE.
Verizon Authorized Independent Test Lab for Over the Air Radiated Performance
The Wireless Research Center has been approved and listed as a Verizon Authorized Independent Test Lab to perform Over the Air Radiated Performance Tests for CDMA and LTE devices. WRCNC is now listed in the Verizon Open Development Device Certification Process document.
Passive Antenna Testing:
Passive antenna testing is crucial to understanding how the newly designed antenna will perform when deployed. With the recent addition of the “POPEYE” phantom to our equipment, we are now able to characterize body worn wireless devices to ensure to device will meet the needs of the customer. New antennas should be tested starting in the early stages of development. This will result in a quicker time to market and development cost. Here at WRCNC we are accredited to perform testing to IEEE 149 (IEEE Standard Test Procedures for Antennas). We are accredited for the following:

(The OTA and passive antenna testing is performed in the Satimo SG64 chamber. The chamber has been developed to measure stand-alone antennas or antennas integrated in subsystems in the frequency range from 400MHz to 18GHz. The chamber can measure Gain, Beam width, Directivity, Cross polar discrimination, Side lobe levels, 3D radiation patterns, and Radiation pattern in any polarization, Antenna efficiency, TRP, TIS, EIRP and EIS.)
Pre-Compliance Testing/Mitigation Services
WRCNC also offer clients pre-compliance testing before submitting products for CTIA certification along with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Radiated Spurious Emissions (RSE) testing on Intentional and Unintentional Radiators. We have access to some of the most experienced design and test engineers in their prospective field. Pre-compliance testing helps to safeguard against lengthy delays by identify and resolve shortcomings in the design, and potential redesigns in the future.

- EMC Radiated Pre-Scans for FCC Part 15 Subpart B, EN55022, EN55011.
- Licensed and Unlicensed transmitter pre-scans for FCC Requirements in Part 15 SubpartC, Part 22 and Part 24.
- ESD testing up to 30KV (Standards (IEC, ANSI, SAE, ISO, MIL etc.)
- Frequency stability over temperature required by various compliance standards using the Thermal Chamber.
